Nursery/KindergartenOur group had a great week in camp. On Monday we went to gymnastics where the campers played all kinds of games. In Jewish Culture we all did Israeli Dancing with Michelle. On Tuesday we saw The Minion Movie which the kids all enjoyed. Due to the rain on Wednesday we had our hot dogs at camp and had fun there too. Overall it was a great week, 6/7 GirlsThis week was so much fun! We started learning our cheer for family day and we can't wait to shake things off. On Tuesday we saw The Minion Movie and can't stop saying banana! On Thursday we learned how to tumble at gymnastics! We can't wait for next week! 8/9 GirlsThis week the Bratz went to the Jones Beach Pool, the movies, Valley Stream State Park, and gymnastics. Even though we do some of these things all the time we loved doing them and had a great time. 10/11 GirlsThe Powerpuff Girls started their week with a trip to the Jones Beach Pool and enjoyed their time. On Tuesday the girls went to gymnastics and learned Israeli dancing. On Wednesday the girls enjoyed watching The Minions Movie. On Thursday we visited Valley Stream State Park where the girls had a great time practicing for Family Day. We ended the week with in camp activities including Arts and Crafts, Drama and Oneg on Friday. SwimAs camp finishes it's third week, swimmers are progressing more and more. Campers have done a variety of activities to better their skills depending on what level they are at. The younger groups work on their kicking, floating and gliding while the more advanced swimmers worked on rhythmic breathing, freestyle endurance and the backstroke. This week during free swim a group tried out water polo! Art & Jewish CultureIn Arts and Crafts this week the Nursery/Kindergarten read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and made their own very hungry dancing caterpillars. The upper camp finished the Kandinsky and Giacommetti inspired pieces. In Jewish Culture the upper camp learned two Israeli danced while the lower camp learned about Tikkun Olam through reading Ms Rumpus. They each made their own lupine gardens to make the world a more beautiful place! | 6/7 BoysMonday the boys had a normal day at camp. Tuesday the boys went to see The Minions Movie. Wednesday we had the bbq at camp because of the weather. Thursday we tumbled at gymnastics and Friday was oneg. We had an awesome week. 8/9 BoysWe started the week off with an exciting trip to the Jones Beach Pool. The kids were glad to have the chance to swim together outside of camp. We spent Tuesday in camp and went to the park. Wednesday was a bit different because of the weather we went to see the Minion Movie rather then go to the cookout. We also practiced for Family Day which went really well...watch out! Thursday we made up for not going to cookout by going to Valley Stream State Park. We had a great soccer game! 10/11 BoysThis week our group went on a couple of trips. Monday we went to the Jones Beach Pool. The group had fun swimming outside on a hot day. On Wednesday we got to see Minions. The group enjoyed the movie and that was a great back up plan for a cookout. On Thursday we went to Valley Stream and go to play in the park. TweensOn Monday we swam at Jones Beach Pool. On Tuesday we watched part of The Sound of Music while munching on popcorn in Drama and learned some groovy Israeli dances in Jewish Culture. Wednesday because of the rain we went to go see Minions. Thursday we got to go to Valley Stream State Park and on Friday we went on our kayaking adventure. DramaWeek three in drama class was turned into a movie theater for some classes, we are starting to get ready for our drama show in week eight. We played "clay lump" with some of the other classes, this is a drama game where kids use a piece of imaginary clay to mold anything their imagination lets them, and the audience gets to guess what the item is. We also played "walk through" which is a game using your imagination, each child leads us through a place of his or her choice and guides us through the walk, pointing out, describing and educating us about the things we are "looking at". We visited some cool places in our imagination, and took lots of "pictures". Please ask your kids to play this game at home, you will learn a lot from them. Have a pleasant weekend. |
