Hillcrest JC Day Camp - October Update

We hope that everyone has had a successful start to the school year! Believe it or not, it has already been a month since the end of Hillcrest 2014, and we're only 9 months away from the start of another great Hillcrest summer!

Over the course of the school year, we'll be posting updates to this blog on a monthly basis, in addition to some "Throwback Thursday" posts that will pop up occasionally on Thursdays. Be sure to check back here often!

Summer 2014 Testimonials

"My daughter has attended Hillcrest Day Camp for the past 5 years and looks forward to many more years of fun! She loves the counselors, the trips, and the many friends she has made. As a parent, I appreciate the safe environment and caring staff as well as my child's exposure to different cultures and activities." -Margaret Feliciano

When were you a part of Hillcrest JC Day Camp?
I attended/worked at Hillcrest from ages 6-19, as a camper, CIT, counselor, and group leader.

What did you like most about Hillcrest?
Hillcrest was a close-knit community of people. Everyone knew each other, and most people came back every year. In a way, we all grew up together, and I liked that. Also, the RED BUS FOR LIFE! The trips to and from camp on the Red Bus were some of my favorite times.

Did you have any favorite trips? Activities?
Splish Splash, or the 3-day overnights at the New Jersey Y Camp.

What have you been up to since your time at Hillcrest?
I am a full-time reporter for Newsday.com

Do you still keep in touch with anyone from your time at camp?
Yes, the people I met at Hillcrest are, and will be, my friends for life. We're more than friends -- we're family.
