8/9s Update, Weeks 4-5

8/9 Girls

The Snuffleupagirls cannot believe that camp is already halfway over, but they are more than excited to begin the second session! On Monday, the girls took advantage of an experience of a lifetime and took a tour of the Freedom Tower. On Tuesday, the girls stayed in camp doing arts & crafts and playing in the gym while trying to stay cool in the midst of a heat wave. Today, wednesday, we went to Valley Stream Park for a barbeque, played drip, drip, drop and made bracelets out of flowers. After our long and exhausting days, we always cool down by going for a swim and having a snack of ice cream or popsicles.

Our Camper of the Week is Olivia R., who is constantly going out of her way to play with other kids while being kind and compassionate. But Olivia’s kindness does not stop with the campers; she also treats her counselors, the specialists and the office staff with the utmost respect.

8/9 Boys

Last week, the 8/9 boys, once again, had tons of fun. To start out the week, we went to Sky Zone and loved jumping on trampolines. On Tuesday, we did some fun in-camp activities such as swimming, Teen Lounge, and video games. On Wednesday, we had a fun-filled day at our weekly barbecue with activities such as Basketball, Softball, and the playground. On Thursday, we went to Rye Playland and had so much fun. Everyone had the opportunity to go on rides such as The Dragon, which is a national landmark. To close out the week, on Friday, we had our annual Family Day show during our Oneg Shabbat services, where the kids performed a song that the counselors put together for their parents and relatives. It was a great performance and everyone had so much fun!

The Camper of the Week is Scott L. Scott showed a great example for his fellow campers on how to behave and set a good example on how the kids should act at any time.
